I'm Blake, better known on Sleeper as BlaquonBarkley. I'm the founder and commissioner of the Dark Horse League: a set of competitive fantasy football leagues built around serious play, fair governance, and a love of the game.

If you've landed here, you're either looking to join a league for the upcoming season or trying to figure out who I am and whether I run a tight ship. The short version: I do.

My fantasy career began by force in 2021, when a friend voluntold me into his league. I set up an account without much instruction (the draft date and time included), and logged in to find a fully autodrafted team waiting for me.

Upset I'd missed the draft, I made it my mission to win the league despite starting with computer-generated picks based on ESPN ADP. That first season I learned more than I ever thought I would: proper trades, waivers, watching analysts, building positional value. It felt like the stock exchange. Buy low, sell high.

I finished first place.

I started commissioning the very next season.

The name came out of a particular season I'll never forget. Twelve of us. By mid to late season, half the league was dominating and the other half was struggling. The top half felt comfortable about their playoff opportunity; the bottom half wouldn't let it happen easily. By the end, all twelve teams had landed at very similar scores, and it was anyone's guess who would actually make the playoffs. The worst team in the league won the championship.

That's where Dark Horse came from.

Every year since, the bar has gone up: more managers, sharper play, bigger payouts. The Hall of Fame on the home page tracks every champion who has taken a Dark Horse trophy so far.

My job as commissioner is to keep things fair, fast, and competitive. Clear rules. On-time decisions. Zero tolerance for ghosting. A culture where trash talk is welcome but bad faith isn't.

The Dark Horse philosophy is simple: underdogs ascend, but only the committed get to compete. Every season, I curate a field of managers who actually show up, set their lineups, hit waivers, hit the trade block, and respect the format. The leagues are designed for players who want a serious, high-engagement fantasy experience: not casual "set it and forget it" hobbyists.

I now offer high-stakes leagues alongside standard formats, and my aim is to provide a home to anyone looking for a permanent place to find a fantasy or dynasty league worth committing to. In time, I want Dark Horse League to be the one-stop shop for finding any league format you enjoy. Easy sign-ups. Simple buy-ins. No headache. Vetted members. Staffing that actually understands league management and the game of football, and nothing else.

Rings and trophies for season winners have always been a goal of mine. There will come a time when that becomes reality. This website will record your past championship history in the Hall of Fame, so every title you earn is preserved.

Dark Horse will be the premium community for fantasy and dynasty football. You shouldn't have to work hard to find a community of like-minded league managers: the kind you can spend seasons battling for championships with, and all the bragging rights that go with it. There will never be another league like Dark Horse. That's because my passion is to create the best platform for you and the community. No compromises.
